CALLING ALL ALONG TO HEAVEN AT LAST

CALLING ALL ALONG TO HEAVEN AT LAST

John 1:37-40,40-42,45-46,47-50; Acts 8:26-39

Andrew took a solid decision to follow Jesus (John 1:37-40). He became the first among the 12 disciples to be converted. He went quickly and sought for his brother Simon Peter and brought him to Jesus (John 1:40-42). Andrew's message to his brother was, "we have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ" (John 1:40). Thereafter, the Lord Jesus Himself found Philip with a clear call to salvation and discipleship lifestyle (John 1:43). Philip began, immediately, to call others to Christ. He found Nathanael (later named, Bartholomew), and preached the message about Jesus unto him. The doubts in the mind of Nathanael did not stop Philip. Rather, he convinced Nathanael, and led him to Jesus (John 1:45-46,47- 50). Just like Andrew and Philip, the Lord is speaking to us today to rise up and call everyone who has not known the Lord to Heaven at last. We may be newly born-again, or old believers, we are to call everyone (in our family, neighbourhood, offices, schools, markets, streets, vehicles, farms, etc), using all available and Biblically acceptable methods, to come quickly to Jesus as we journey along to heaven at last. Philip was used mightily by the Lord to lead the Ethiopian Eunuch to Christ (Acts 8:26-39). There were three commitments that manifested in his life that we should aggressively possess today. First, he was INCLINED TO THE CALL OF THE SPIRIT (Acts 8:26,29). He was in the middle of a revival at Samaria, yet, God called him to "Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert" He didn’t even know anything about God’s plan. But, he obeyed. Second (Acts 8:26). Second, he was INSTANT TO THE COMMAND OF THE SPIRIT (Acts 8:29- 30). A soul (the Ethiopian Eunuch) needed to be saved. It was urgent. The Holy Spirit said to Philip, "Go near, and join thyself to this chariot". What did Philip do? He ran unto the man. They are already moving on. It was getting late! There was a split second. God wants instant obedience! Third, he was INSISTENT FOR THE CAUSE OF THE SPIRIT (Acts 8:35). The Holy Spirit has one cause: to testify and bear witness of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 15:26). Philip simply preached unto him Jesus. As a result, the Ethiopian Eunuch was powerfully converted and went to his country following the Lord. God has prepared the heart of many for salvation, He is calling you today to use you as an instrument to bring them to Him. As we get ready for the sudden appearing of the Lord for the Rapture, do not go to Heaven alone! Take others along with you.
