STEADFAST RIGHTEOUSNESS WITHOUT COMPROMISE

 STEADFAST RIGHTEOUSNESS WITHOUT COMPROMISE

HEBREWS 11:5

GENESIS 39:1-23; 5:21-24

Godliness is walking with God. It shows reconciliation with God, for "two cannot walk together except they be agreed" (Amos 3:3). It includes all the part of a godly, righteous and sober life. To walk with God is to set God always before oneself, to act as always under His eyes. It is to be committed to please God in all things and separate totally from anything that offends Him. It is to be followers of Him as dear children. This was the life of Enoch in his days. The Holy Spirit, through the Bible, did not say "Enoch lived", but He says, "Enoch walked with God". Pleasing God was his constant care and walk. While others lived to themselves and the world, he lived to God. It was the joy of his life. Eventually, Enoch was taken to heaven by God without dying physically. He was searched for and was not found because God translated him (Hebrews 11:5).

TEMPTATION TO COMPROMISE

Genesis 39: 1-4. 7-12

There is always the temptation to look toward the world and be careful so as not to be caught in the trap of the lust of the be subtly ensnared by it. A heavenly minded believer must flesh. the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. We have a great need to make covenant with our eyes lest the eyes infects the heart. When a man is overpowered by lust. decency, reputation and conscience are all sacrificed' determined to pull down Joseph through sin of immorality. Potiphar's wife's heart was set to do evil. She was Satan, through many people, laboured to overcome Joseph with the troubles and frowns of this world, but Joseph held fast to his principles. The devil came out again, through Portiphar's wife, to attack him with immoral pleasure, but, Joseph, by the grace of God, was able to overcome this temptation. Every believer must be careful so as not fall into temptation to compromise his faith, biblical principles, holiness, consecration. commitment to the Lord and his determination to make heaven.

TRIUMPH IN RIGHTEOUSNESS

Genesis 39:8-13; Jude 1:18-21,24; Psalm 1:2-6; 119:9,11,37,57,60

Sensual men separate from Christ and His Church. and join themselves to the devil, the flesh and the world, by ungodly and sinful practices. Sensual, ungodly men have not the spirit of holiness. By this they are known as not belonging to Christ. The spirit of holiness also distinguishes "genuine believers as truly "of God and separate them from those who hold dead faith. A true believer that will go to meet the Lord Jesus at rapture must hold on to the true faith, avoids every trap of compromise with the world, and live to glorify Christ. Like Enoch, standing firm in righteousness, refusing to yield to the dictates of the world, and continuous living in readiness for heaven must the daily lifestyles of a triumphant believer. Lively faith in this blessed hope helps us to mortify the lust of the flesh and eventually triumph in righteousness.

TESTIMONY OF THE OVERCOMER

Genesis 41:38-45; 2 Timothy 4:6-8; Acts 7:55,58,60

The death of a good man is his release from the imprisonment of this world and his departure to the enjoyment of God's kingdom. Stephen kept the faith and triumphed as an overcomers. Paul kept the faith; stood in righteousness to the end. and ended up an overcomer. Any believer who stands uncompromisingly in righteousness, keeps the faith, and abide in Christ unto the end, will end up as an overcomer. There is a crown of righteousness waiting for any believer who stands firm to the end. Our testimony at the end shall be: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing" (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
